Jodie McCarthy, MAMFT, MA, MSEDHamburg officeJodie is a Marriage and Family Therapist (MAMFT), who holds a Masters of Science degree in Education from the SUNY College at Buffalo and who earned her Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Medaille College. She is also a New York State certified Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education teacher. In the therapy room, Jodie facilitates a safe, calm, and relaxing environment to allow clients to move at their own pace, while achieving their therapeutic goals. She puts emphasis on slowing clients down to process and reflect on what is being said in the therapy room. Jodie welcomes individuals, couples, and families that are experiencing individual or relationship challenges, grappling with a loved one’s addiction(s), transitioning into parenthood with multiples, receiving developmental diagnoses, and working with children with autism spectrum disorder on behavioral based interventions.
Jodie is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and has vast experiences supporting families during rigorous emotional moments. She has provided home based parent training and special education services for families and children with alternative abilities. She has an extensive history of implementing sensory, educational, and behavioral based interventions to children with autism spectrum disorder. |
